Childhaven's Mission
Childhaven partners with parents and community to strengthen families, prevent childhood trauma and its damaging effects, and prepare children for a lifetime of well-being.
For more than a century, Childhaven has been a safe and caring place for children and families in our community. Childhaven’s innovative continuum of care model is designed to build resiliency and protective factors for vulnerable families by reducing the impact of adverse childhood experiences on child development so that children enter kindergarten ready to achieve positive outcomes in school and life.
Wockner Foundation Impact
With support from The Gene and Irene Wockner Foundation, Childhaven was able to provide mental and behavioral healthcare to preschool children dealing with childhood trauma. The Gene and Irene Wockner Foundation also enabled Childhaven to develop their next phase of child support, called Flourish, which combines early learning and developmental therapies with more intensive mental health care, home visits, and care coordination for families.
