Assistance League® of the Eastside, since 1989, strives to serve the immediate, unmet needs of children and adults challenged by hardship or violence, strengthening our community while fostering dignity, confidence, and hope.
Operation School Bell
Assistance League of the Eastside’s largest program is Operation School Bell®. Students are provided funding to shop for new clothes and shoes, school supplies, groceries and medicines that reflect their own style and need. The Operation School Bell® program has served over 60,000 children from 99 schools within the Bellevue, Lake Washington, and Northshore School Districts to date.

With grant support from The Gene and Irene Wockner Foundation, Operation School Bell® was able to support many families in the community. Assistance League of the Eastside was able to distribute gift cards in the amount of $150.00 each to use at Fred Meyer stores where 2,000 low-income and homeless students from 99 schools in the Bellevue, Lake Washington, and Northshore School districts were served.
